You can definitely make your own garam masala;  there are lots of recipes out there.  I found them to be a bit tedious, so I bought a jar.   It was useful in this recipe and I also use it when I make Chicken Tikka Masala and Shrimp with Spiced Masala and Coconut Milk.    Once you buy a jar you&#039;ll be surprised at the number of recipes that call for it.
