Smoked Tuna Dip

Share

I found a great blog recently called Pinch My Salt. You should check it out. I found a lot of recipes that I want to try. This tuna dip was the first thing I tried, and it was delicious. I love smokey things like smoked whitefish dip and smoked Gouda cheese, so this recipe appealed to me.

This is a perfect dip for entertaining. It comes together in a matter of minutes, and there are no complicated ingredients. The only one that I didn’t have on hand until I made this was the liquid smoke, but now that I have it, I can make it again easily. I plan to serve it the next time we have company.

Smoked Tuna Dip
Recipe from Pinch My Salt

1 small can (5 oz.) albacore tuna, drained well
1 8 oz. package of cream cheese, softened slightly
1 1/2 teaspoons liquid smoke
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
scant 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
scant 1/2 teaspoon salt
dash or two of pepper sauce (like Tabasco)
paprika or smoked paprika (optional, for decoration)

Blend all ingredients together well using a stand mixer or hand mixer. Taste, and adjust seasonings to your liking. Be careful adding more liquid smoke, it’s stronger than you think! When ready to serve, add a light sprinkling of paprika over the top for decoration.

Yield: about 1 1/2 cups
